*I like to incorporate this comic (and anything by Brubaker tbh) into his backstory for threads.
SHIT I'D LIKE TO PLAY
• I love humour, (mutual) hurt/comfort, missions/covert operations, undercover, fake dating, body heat, trapped together, soulmates/soulmarks/soulbonds, angst, action/adventure, character exploration, slice of life, smut, and organic development.
• I really like conflict brought about by character decisions and baggage. Even with established relationships, I really like it when there's still something to resolve. It makes the writing more worthwhile and juicy. (That said, I kind of don't want to put a bandaid on trauma because it can be fun to explore.)
• On mutual hurt/comfort, I'm okay with one character being more hurt than the other, but I'm not interested in playing 100% the comforting role nor making anyone else do the same as that's not fun for me.
• I'd love to explore Bucky's history as the Winter Soldier with Red Room history incorporated into threads. I'd also really love to explore his trauma as the Winter Soldier. He's done some horrible things without even being conscious of it and that has to leave a huge mark. What's his relationship with his arm? How does he feel being lost and out of time? I'd love to explore him trying to find his place in the world as Bucky.
• I'm a sucker for action/adventure types of scenarios like Romancing the Stone, The Goonies, The Mummy and Indiana Jones. Throw a map at them and toss them in the jungle and see how they go. Those plots are always just so much fun to watch and read.
• What about the Multiverse? Surely there's a Bucky out there who's happy and never experienced the trauma of becoming the Winter Soldier.
• People who he's close with calling him "James".
